RATIONALE:
The design of the new Col' Cacchio restaurant draws its influence from a tangible pizza oven, which is visually translated into the emotions and connotations, one typically associates with a pizza oven. The idea of a pizza oven links back to the Col'Cacchio back story and how they became a renowned brand due to their wood fire pizza. The space evokes these emotions of a pizza oven experience through organic tile flooring mimicking how dough is moulded and shaped, burnt orange breeze blocks and booth cushions to immulate warmth. Light wood furniture and lime wash-stucco walls, nod to rustic Italian kitchens, while cement-textured walls add a hint of the oven's resilience.
The space integrates arches and organic voids, introducing architectural elements that blend harmoniously with the design, reminiscent of the openings within a pizza oven. Light and shadow through these arches and voids will enhance the ambiance, evoking a sense of mystery and depth. Overall, the new Col' Cacchio is a fresh interpretation of a Mediterranean Italian style, captivating a unique essence that redefines the restaurant experience.
